How does our theme of Community Service relate to your memoir? Has your author served others in his/her community in some way? If so, tell us about it.
My book, Grief Girl, has alot to do with community service. When Erin and Tracy's parents die the community comes together to support the two girls. The community gives them food, money, and flowers. Even though the girls are pretty fed up with all of the things that their house is filling up with they're still great full.
In my book he doesnt really do that much community service. The main thing that he does, is that he helps paint a house. It takes him multiple days, and he doesnt have anyone to help him, except for this one guy who yells at him. That is pretty much it.
His name is Ned, and yes he does do it voluntarily, but he is also tricked into doing it. He does it to help someone but it doesnt really explain who the person is
My book is With Their Eyes. It is about 9/11 and people who witnessed it. Everyone in New York comes together and helps clean up all of the community's around ground zero.
With their Eyes is related to community service because after the attacks, some of the students either go and donate blood, or start to help with the Red Cross. It helps them become stronger mentally as the school an rebuild what they have lost.

DeleteIn my book puppies, dogs, and blue northers. Gary doesn't do much community service except that he feeds and trains all the dogs and puppies.

DeleteMy book isn't really about community service, it's more of this guy fighting his depression. But his family is really supportive.

He runs to the other tribes to get help defending the valleys cows, he saved a lot of cows, and if he had not ran many cows would've died.
